Sundial Growers Inc.’s (Sundial) Chief Executive Officer, Torsten Kuenzlen, announced a new leadership team member today to further strengthen its position as a leading Canadian and international cannabis company. Jim Bachmann joined the Senior Executive Team as Sundial’s new Chief Production Officer, effective immediately.

With over 25 years of experience as a seasoned leader and operator, Bachmann will be responsible for all of Sundial’s production facilities. He will lead all aspects of facility operations including production, processing, compliance, Health & Safety and process optimization.

“Jim has a long and proven track record with international experience operating, constructing and commissioning major production facilities,” said Sundial CEO, Torsten Kuenzlen. “His highly technical skillset and vast knowledge of facility production and optimization will be critical to Sundial’s success as we expand our production capabilities.”

Bachmann has worked extensively in plant level leadership positions in both the United States and Canada, where he managed hundreds of employees and successful plant construction and optimization projects. He has led multi-disciplinary teams across multiple plant locations and he has a proven track record of facility optimization.

“I’m excited to apply a lifetime of experience in the mining, manufacturing and construction sectors to the cannabis industry,” said Bachmann. “Sundial’s modular approach to cultivation means that we will be growing very large volumes of cannabis in small, tightly regulated batches at the highest quality. The level of precision and opportunities for technical optimization required is something that I’m eagerly looking forward to.”
